Eligibility for Associate Membership
Eligibility Criteria
1.1 Individual Associate Membership:
- A natural person who can demonstrate an interest in surveying through training, employment or other connection satisfactory to the CSV Board.
- Cannot be a principal or employee of a firm or entity eligible for corporate membership of the association as a Member Firm (for clarity this means that any person working in a business that provides any form of consulting surveying services is ineligible for individual associate membership).
- Cannot be an employee of a firm or entity which is a Firm or Entity Associate Member of the association.
- Can be an employee engaged in surveying and working within a firm or entity that is not eligible for membership of the association as a Member Firm (e.g. a surveyor working in a government or semi-government agency or in local government).
- Every individual associate member must agree to abide by CSV’s Rules, Codes of Ethics and Practice and By-Laws.
1.2 Firm or Entity Associate Membership:
- A firm or entity which can demonstrate an interest in surveying through its work output and/or services or other connection satisfactory to the CSV Board.
Cannot be a firm or entity that is eligible for corporate membership of the association as a Member Firm.
- Must be a separately identifiable entity.
- Must nominate or nominate a natural person as its representative.
- The Firm or Entity Associate Member Representative must agree to abide by CSV’s Rules, Codes of Ethics and Practice and By-Laws.
The CSV Board may accept, reject or accept on conditions any application for Associate Membership at its discretion.
Restrictions
Associate Members are:
- not eligible for election as a Director of the association,
- not entitled to participate in the discussions of any matter brought before any general meeting of the association (except by invitation),
- do not have any right to vote.
Entitlements
Associate Members shall be eligible for:
- any and all rights applicable to this category of membership under the association’s rules.
