Consulting Surveyors Victoria (CSV) have been holding seminars and educational events for its entire existence as a service to members.
 
In July 2005 the Surveyors Registration Board of Victoria (SRBV) issued draft regulations for the introduction of compulsory Further Education and Professional Training points (FPET) for surveyors. They were approved in October 2005 and introduced in January 2006. Please refer to the link below for the latest FPET requirements.

It is CSV’s philosophy to run four seminars per year, offering our members seminars and events to collect points towards the allocation required for the calendar year. CSV has been one of the leading providers in FPET events.
 
In 2006/07 CSV executive looked at the costs involved in regional, interstate and international surveyors attending our events to obtain FPET points. As a result CSV introduced DSeminars.

The primary use of seminar DVDs is for gaining FPET points for regional member licensed surveyors.

• DVDs are loaned to member applicants for FPET points at seminar member prices, and to non-members at general registration seminar prices. The DVDs must be returned in one month.

• There is a limit for Melbourne (+ within 100 km) based members and non-members to two seminar DVDs per calendar year.

• For interstate and overseas based licensed surveyors (non-members) all seminar DVDs are available to be accessed at general registration rates.

To utilise DSeminars to meet FPET requirements surveyors need to familiarise themselves with SRBV's digital FPET recordings policy. Refer to Appendix 1 of SRBV's FPET guidelines.
